God of War RagnarokThe weight of the chains is one of the first favors you will encounter in the game. You'll hop between islands and find a mysterious key before boarding a giant whale and freeing it from its enslavement.

This is a dynamic quest that features multiple puzzles and a whole host of enemy encounters. During this quest, you'll have the opportunity to claim numerous treasures, clean up a Draugr hole, and take out a few of Odin's ravens. Most importantly, you'll help free a majestic creature from its prison.
The watchtower
In the Bay of Bounty you should travel to Radsvinn's Rig, the mining platform on the right side of the Bay of Bounty. Near the base of the rig you'll find Sindri's pop-up shop. To the right of this facility is a tower whose base is lined with rocks. You can remove these stones by aiming at the nearby explosive jars. Climb to the top and you will begin the Weight of Chains quest line. There are still a few things to do before you leave. Let's start by getting rid of the dangerous ones.There is a Draugr hole up here that needs to be sealed.
Boss fight: The Hateful
Each Draugr hole offers you an encounter with The Hateful. These enemies are usually excruciatingly difficult. However, the version of The Hateful you fight in the Watchtower is definitely the easiest iteration. This incarnation of The Hateful has a projectile attack that travels in a straight line across the ground.You'll know this attack is coming when The Hateful raises both hands above his head and the telltale red meter appears around him.Once they bang their axes on the ground, just roll sideways and you should safely parry that projectile attack.
On top of that, The Hateful will hit you with their axes. This version of The Hateful seems a step slower than its heavier counterparts, so these attacks aren't generally all that difficult to parry. Occasionally they'll throw in an unblockable attack, so watch out for the red meter and dodge when it pops up. Speaking of unblockable attacks,All versions of The Hateful have a fast moving, unblockable, sprinting double uppercut ax swing. This is by far the most dangerous train. So when you see The Hateful slam his foot on the ground, prepare for this surprisingly fast attack.

Once you defeat The Hateful, collect all the treasure from the Draugr Hole andShoot the raven flying around this platform (the same one with the Draugr hole) with your axe.There is also a red chest to collect here. Now leave the watchtower and get into your boat. You will paddle to the northernmost mining operation: Althjof's Rig.
The island near Althjofs Rig
As you approach Althjof's Rig, you'll see a small dock with a blue flag on it. Dock your boat and venture to this island. A pile of rocks will block your path, so just throw your ax at the nearby blasting glass. Head up the path, destroy the Wretch nest, and then blast another pile of rocks to the right of the gate. Shimmy along the outer ledge, climb up and take out another Wretch nest.

There's a giant wheel here, turn it all the way towards Kratos then throw your ax at the gear on top and freeze it.Now crawl along the outer edge again and go right. Get on the elevator and recall your axe.When the elevator takes you to the top, crash through the broken stone tablet on the floor and you'll find yourself in a chamber with a Bergsra nut and a red chest. Once you take out the Bergsra nut you can get the key from the chest and leave this island.
If you started this quest the moment it became available to you, this may be your first encounter with a Bergsra mother.The best way to deal with this enemy is with your Blades of Chaos, as they are very effective at clearing the Wretches that the Bergsra Mother summons.Just make sure to avoid the unblockable lunges she performs (these usually come two at a time) and keep the pressure on her. She will fall soon enough.
Return to the Watchtower
After getting the key from the island, now go back to the watchtower. Put the key in the locked door and enter an area with a big drum. Raise the drum so Atreus can shoot. As a result, the mighty Lyngbakr rises from the bottom of the lake. You have now unlocked your next location: Lyngbakr Island. Jump down from the watchtower, hop in your boat and paddle towards the giant whale.

Cutting the first chain
Moor your boat at the base of the whale and climb up. You will be confronted with a series of Draugr. Once you've killed the Draugr, go to the gate in the background. You can't pick it up, but you'll see a pile of debris on the right with an explosive jar nearby. Hit the glass and smash the debris. Now cut down the pillar, causing Lyngbakr to raise his fin. Disconnect the chain holding said fin and you'll be one step closer to releasing the majestic beast.
Cutting the second chain
Return to where you climbed and fought the draugr. There is a gap to the right of where you climbed up. Jump across this gap and you will fight a Draugr and two Nightmares. Now climb up the chain on your right and read the rune tablet.There is a grapple point to the left of the rune tablet. Use these to get to the other side.
Once you cross the gap, a chest will be waiting for you on the other side. You will fight another Draugr and a few more Nightmares. Now kick down the nearby chain. Climb onto the platform below and cut the second of Lyngbakr's chains.
Cutting the third chain
Once the colossal whale moves its fin, it will tear loose some debris and reveal a wretch nest. Destroy the Wretch nest and you'll gain access to an explosive device.Grab the explosives and throw them at the nearby debris. This will reveal a red chest.
Get another explosive and travel to the edge of the platform you revealed by destroying this debris moments ago. In the distance you can see a huge pile of rubble covering a dock. Throw the explosives on the rubble and clear it away. Now lift up the nearby gate.

Grab another explosive and go to the pile of rubble near the chain you climbed earlier (the one that led to the rune tablet).Throw the explosives at this debris, and you can now swing across the gap and claim another red chest. There's also a nearby cave over here. Crawl through and you will get itOthersBreast. There's also a raven out here to throw your ax at.
You will now get in your boat and paddle to the dock you revealed. Once you climb to the top you will face a group of Draugrs and Nightmares. Once you kill them you will face off against a group of Grims. Once you've eliminated them, reach across the gap and loot the treasure chest.Lift the gate nearby and you'll be back at the part of the facility with the explosive-generating device. Grab one, then jump back to where you just fought the Grims. Destroy the rubble pile and there will be another red chest.
Now slide down the rope and open the legendary chest. You can now cut the last chain and free Lyngbakr. However, it doesn't move once you cut the chain. So jump down, grab the chest and paddle your boat to Lyngbakr's eye so Mimir can try to talk to him. After a short talk, you will complete The Weight Of Chains favor.
