Enter the Volunder Mines¶
Now that all of the smaller islands are fully explored, it's time to return to the Volunder Mines and help Brok in his quest. If you forgot how to get there, you can find him southeast of Týr's Temple.
However, before you start the journey, take the time to double-check your skills. If you've followed this walkthrough, you should find yourself on a nice chunk of XP in the 3400+ range. It's a great idea at this point to upgrade Ivaldi's Anvil Heavy Rune's attack, which costs 1000 XP, this adds a follow-up attack with [R2] after the first slam. It's also a good idea to buy the Block Break skill in the Shield Combat tree so you can break through blocking enemies' defenses. Other useful skills at this point are Grinding Storm from the Close Combat tree, Acrobatics and Ferocity from the Expert Combat tree.

With spent XP, make the journey to Völunder Mines and return to Brok's Shop. Access the Shop to upgrade the Versatile Warrior's grip to its final tier with the last corrupted holdover from the favor of the unfinished business, and you should have enough Hacksilver (sell all your artifacts) to level the Quiver of Claws to tier III to improve.
Look to the right of the main door to find oneLore-Markerso that Atreus can read before placing the entry stone in the pedestal.

Don't forget to read this rune before going into the mines.
Find the dwarf with a green ring¶
Go through the now-open door into the mines beyond, stopping when you reach the gap ahead. There is a bomb to your left. Step back and throw the ax at it to break up the debris and find a small sack of itHacksilberand a coffin. Jump across the gap and break the planks at the end to find yourself in an open passageway. Head right to get the attention of a new enemy, a Soul Eater, but you don't have to fight him as his attention is elsewhere.

Break the boards at the end and search the ground inside to find a sack of themHacksilberbefore falling into the area below. This will trigger Nightmares and Draugrs to spawn and cause an explosion at the other end by hitting the bomb above them before killing the rest. Search the body for a bag fullHacksilberand then open the gate to go further inside.

A Revenant will attack you as you enter, use Atreus as usual to pin them down and hit them with ax throws. Look to the right here to find some planks that you can destroy to find a Hacksilver chest before picking up another sack of itHacksilberfrom the corpse of another dwarf. Look left and you'll spot a door on the other side of the bridge locked by Nornir Runes. You must find and destroy the three runes to go deeper into the mine.

Start by climbing down the chain to the right of the bridge and destroy the two nightmares that appear. There's a coffin here, followed by anothertreasure mapso that Atreus can grab before heading down the path until you're under the bridge. Look right to find some planks to break, then look right to see a bomb that will detonate you and destroy the debris you just passed.
(1 von 2)Fire Atreus' arrows at the Revenant to stun him in place, being careful to avoid the waves of poison.

Head back to this now accessible area and drop down the ledge to find a large sackHacksilberand then face east in the air. You will see a bomb in the distance hanging from a rune disk, hit this disk to destroy the first rune.
Go back to where you broke the planks under the bridge and keep going, climb a ledge and reach a chain that you can drop. Here, look at the wall to the west to find the second rune to destroy. Climb down the chain and watch out for the bombs, don't waste them as you'll want to use them soon. Instead, open the gate on the right to find a coffin, the last rune to destroy, and the location of the ring you're looking for on a head dangling from the Soul Eater.

Defeat the Soul Eater¶
Leaving this area will be attacked by Nightmares and Draugrs, including both Heavys and Speed-types. Make full use of the bombs in the area and don't get cornered, remember to attack the Projectile Drauger from where the chain is as soon as it spawns. Once the area is clear, climb the chain again and go through the now open Nornir door.

There's a little bagHacksilberto your right as you enter this passageway, and then go around the corner and jump down the ledge when you're ready to face the Soul Eater.
The Soul Eater is passive until you make the first move, watch out for the bombs in the arena. These enemies are made of stone, your attacks are useless against its shell, but its weak point is its core, which it reveals when it attacks. The Soul Eater's main method of attacking you is by shooting fireballs from its core. You can avoid these by using the stone pillars in the arena.

To attack the creature itself, you must throw your ax, preferably heavy throws, at its exposed core when it attacks. Not only will this do damage, but it will knock small clusters out of its core. You can then pick these up and throw them back at the Soul Eater to make it explode on impact. Deal enough damage and you stun him causing a red ring to appear over his head, dash in and hit himor

Here push Atreus up the ledge to the north and have him drop the chain so you can climb and head up the path to find the finaleLore-Markerfor this area. Now use the zipline to access the other side where more Nightmares and Draugrs are waiting for you, use the bombs again and set them down. Collect the loot from the enemies and open the Hacksilver chest to the south before climbing the ledge to the west (the ledge on the right leads back to the zip line and a small sack full ofHacksilberIf you want).

Another three draugr will attack on the other end, using your new rune attack and easily defeating them before climbing the ledge and picking up the small sackHacksilberand open the Hacksilver chest on your left. Drop the chain, drop down, and climb up the ledge leading back to Brok's Shop. Deliver the grave news about the alchemist to Brok to complete the favor and receive aVolunder handlealong with XP. The pommel you got is great if you haven't already upgraded Versatile Warrior's Grip to the max, and it has a low chance of a useful perk activation, the chance to create a barrier that prevents attacks , when hitting enemies with the Leviathan Axe.
Before leaving Brok's Shop, take the time to upgrade another piece of Kratos' armor if you have the resources. This should be enough to get you to level 2 and help you with your next task.
